Harrogate will be thronged with visitors during the UCI 2019 road
World Championships from 21st to 29th September 2019. With a year to go,
hotels were close to full according to a Stray FM
report.
With a month to go, there aren't many rooms left. Quoted in the
Harrogate Advertise on 22nd August 2019, Simon Cotton of HRH Hotel Group
Harrogate said that both weekend dates are close to sold out, with the
large hotels 99% full. 'The guest houses have...around 10 per cent spare
capacity left overall. Midweek, Monday to Thursday nights inclusive,
there is still space left with my best guess being...90 per cent of the
rooms are booked.'
There's an exceptional opportunity to secure accommodation for the
World Championships after the cancellation of a block booking.
The Vicarage, in the little village of Nidd, a stone's throw from
Ripley and a short bike ride from Harrogate, is right by the route of
many of the races, including the elite women's ITT and the elite men's
road race.
They offer 3 stylish boutique rooms - all king-sized beds. You help
yourself to a delicious continental breakfast spread from the in-room
pantry, whatever time you like. Superfast wifi to follow all the
action. Easy access to Harrogate by car, or train, avoiding any road
closures. Parking and secure bike storage.
What do guests say? 'A hidden gem...What did I like? Everything!'

According to Harrogate tourist office, there was a surge of bookings
when the World Championships were first announced in October 2016.
Since then, interest has been steadier, but is likely to pick up as
people make plans in the months and weeks before the event.
In mid-May, the Hotel St George was fully booked from Thursday 26th
to Sunday 29th September 2019, but still had about half its rooms
available for the start of the World Championships week.
